DIETARY AIDE PATH

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Eligibility: Must be in good standing (no attendance, tardiness, or written issues in your file).

Timeframe: Minimum of three months in the role before eligible to participate.

Benefits: Wage increases* to reward your progress.

HOW IT WORKS

Nomination & Approval: Employees may be nominated by community leadership or self-nominate by completing the form below.

Voluntary Participation: 
Career ladder moves are entirely voluntary.

Support Throughout: 
Eligible staff will receive guidance to select
the best career path for them.

DIETARY AIDE

  • Baseline Step After 3 months in good standing* from hire 

ServSafe® Food Handler Certification

  • Basic Food Safety Step
     
  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 2 hours of time, which may be split

  • Completed –  Online or via Mobile Device

ServSafe® Manager Certification

  • Advanced Food  Safety Step After completion $1.00 wage increase**

  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 10 hours of time, which may be split.

  • Completed – Online or via Mobile Device

Train as Cook

  • Skill Advancement Step
    Wage increase** to Cook Wage

    Must work 1 shift per pay period as a cook to maintain increased wage

  • Time Commitment – up to 5 shifts or as needed

  • Completed
    In-Person at Community  

*Good Standing – defined as no attendance, tardiness, or written issues of note in the employee file. 
**Wage increases are in addition to yearly merit increases.

Cook

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Eligibility: Must be in good standing (no attendance, tardiness, or written issues in your file).

Timeframe: Minimum of three months as a cook before eligible to participate. 

Benefits: Additional wage  increases* beyond annual merit raises.

HOW IT WORKS

Nomination & Approval: Employees may be nominated by community leadership or self-nominate by completing the form below.

Voluntary Participation: 
Career ladder moves are entirely voluntary.

Support Throughout: 
Eligible staff will receive guidance to select  the best career path for them.

Cook

  • Baseline Step After 3 months in good standing* from hire OR after promotion from Dietary Aide—eligible for next step

ServSafe® Food Handler Certification

  • Basic Food Safety Step
     
  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 2 hours of time, which may be split

  • Completed –  Online or via Mobile Device

ServSafe® Manager Certification

  • Advanced Food  Safety Step After completion $1.00 wage increase**

  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 10 hours of time, which may be split.

  • Completed – Online or via Mobile Device

Level 1 Rouxbe Training

  • Culinary Skill
    Advancement Step
    After completion $1.00 wage increase**

    Mission provided Chef Coat

  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 41 hours of time, which may be split.

  • Completed – Online or via Mobile Device & In-Person at Community/Home

Level 2 Rouxbe Training

  • Culinary Skill Advancement Step After completion $1.00 wage increase**

    Mission Provided knife set

  • Time Commitment – Allow up to 75 hours of time, which may be split.

  • Completed – Online or via Mobile Device & In-Person at Community/Home

CFM Certification

  • Regulatory Step Required Step

    After completion: $1 wage increase**

  • Advanced Certification, Culinary Skills, & Leadership Advancement Steps
